I think this is great idea EB3_NEPA. We need to work on this!!! A good interim solution. That way we can actually show the contribution that we can make to the society as a family. Does anyone have an idea where we can start?
How about sending letters to our representatives and then contacting the media on the plight of our spouses rather than on us!!! May be the human rights folks can help us on this.

I think you missed my point...we need more members because you can't get any one's time if you just want them to do something for you. You have to be prepared to do something for them. For us, when we become citizens, we need to vote. Now do you see why political parties look for numbers?

But, I looked at the articles that you point to above: The one in WASH POST is about illegal immigration. There is no article in NY TIMES. We need the big newspapers and PBS to discuss our issue repeatedly. Also, many of the newspapers mentioned there cater to Indian population, e.g., Times of India. Plus shusterman.com will always report about us. He is not a part of the wide spectrum of media.
This is a problem with what we are doing. The media does not know about our plight; all they know is that many of us came here on H1B.

IV tracker shows 3000+ EB3-I applicants, however, it is not a good tool to make analysis off of. The sorting function does not consider month-year combo. Anybody knows how to download the data to run your own post processing??
The tracker has more than 6000 entries with missing "Nationality" and "Country of Chargeability" filelds for EB3 applicants. Assuming the majority to be from India, the actual EB3-I entries may exceed well over 9000 and it is a pretty good sample size.

If you look at his posts, initially he said despite holding a doctorate and being around since 1996, he is EB2. So far so good.
Then he says his dependents got approved on his EB2, while his case is rotting (????:D)
The story changes dramatically after you point out if he is the real cream of the crop, he should have been easily qualified for EB1.
The latest, breaking news is that he's from a top-notch research univ and has approved 140 in EB1 but still he's gonna fight for what's fair and against what's unfair (:D:D:D:D:D)
Everything is made up, because the story changes all the time, when you attack him. I think the truth of the matter is he's EB2 and he's lying about EB1.

It seems that some of us want to fight, but don't have a dedicated thread. Instead we have been hijacking other useful threads.
What I propose here is a FIGHT THREAD.

Looking at discussion going on here, its sure that IV have financial problems & only 5% (of total 8000 members) are contributing for the cause. Now, if we restrict IV website for "paid" visits, dont you think that IV membership is reduced by 95% to only 400 paying members?
Instead of making "Paid" web site, I think Moderators needs to delete derogatory posts & block such userids.
That is not a good option that would stop/reduce new members significatly, when IV goes to DC to represent our self, we have to say ' we are only 400 members ' There will be lot of difference in infuence factor when we are saying we are 400 to 8000

Actions - 1) Vote on survey.

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

You are hitting the right buttons here! You can say it is either laziness or fright/jitters or the comfort of current H1B approval/stamp that is making the large populace to sit tight.
Guess what, once some of the battles are won (we can never win all - they will always be ongoing), we should either knight pappu or induct him to "IV Hall of Fame".

I just want IV to be remembered for getting rid of retrogression and solving the GC problems that plague hundreds of thousands of high skilled immigrants. each and every member of IV is important in order to achive this. one member or even the entire core cannot do it alone if there is no support and efforts from IV members. IV members are more important than one member in this struggle.

We do have a right to request prompt, fair service.
We do have a right to expect to be treated by the system as we treat the system: with respect.
If we do not actively seek to change the system for the better, then who will?
There is no injustice that some justify with "well, he's illegal!" or "He's not American!" It is not acceptable. Not just because it is unfair to us, but because there are no bounds to it.
If early Americans just accepted how the British treated them, there would be no United States. Not arguing for revolution, but I am saying that any efficiency that exists today exists because of the demand for it. Regardless of citizenship.

I am trying to distinguish between 'offering to cover' vs 'actually have covered'. There could be a lot of difference.
I get your point. I have not used it so far. I figured if need arises and the insurance company refuses to pay then there are legal avenues to claim money from them.
