I appreciate your enthusisam to respond to most of the negetive comments and thats a good thing. Try to contain yourself sometimes...otherwise people might just ignore you as another loud mouth.
ya, lets step-up a poll and have everyone vote, as if this is the US congress. And after voting leave it for someone else to work on this and other "brilliant" idea. There needs to be a reality check. This poll doesn't mean anything unless there are enough people to spend time and energy at every level. But ya, lets setup a poll and have everyone vote, it will give everyone a feel good factor that everyone contributed in the advocacy effort, how? by voting in the pool and not doing anything about how everyone votes.

donated $50; learned about the organization on June 8, participated in the event - not knowing any of the issues. Was an eye opener to the legislative process. I did not do much, just accompanied the IV members to the meetings - these members were well prepared to present the case as well as to answer questions. I am impressed, and here I am registered and donated.
Thank you IV for being pro-active. Feels good to be part of the action.
Thanks Motivated for your contributions.
Please post on the funding drive.

Second round of contribution sent in. Hope all members follow suit. We should not let the lack on funds come in the way of getting the job done. Appreciate all the hard work put in by the members.

Realizeit....great idea.
Can IV admins, Realizeit and team, plese come up with an action plan from various replies on this thread and post it on IV's front page so that we can start working on it and contributing towards it?
Grazie.
i think you make a good point. I would like to see this on the front page about the developments. The front page could have all the projects that are being considered at this time. This will be more effective than going through the forums.

While, I have not made any analysis on this or do not have any basis, I just reiterated what unitednations and others have written before.
From my perspective (once again, this is just my thoughts), it looks like a slowdown or apply hard country limite for highly subscribed countries maybe a result of a lot of factors like, job market slowing down (2001,2002), complaints that immigrants are taking local jobs, consulting companies selling labors, falsifying resumes to INS or DOL (java programmer actually working in restaurant), people not getting paid prevailing wage, benching etc..... While a comprehensive reform is a good solution to retrogression and all h1bs are taken as serious immigrants, underlying issues need to be fixed before a comprehensive reform to retrogression is there. A lot of loopholes being closed and strigent rules being enacted, change is some laws that don't make sense, understanding the industry needs, issues with wage and tax issues, are things that can be happening behind the scenes (this is just what I think), in addition to backlog elimination and overflow of applicants in an overburdened system.
Once again, it is just my thoughts, which I think explains the patterns to why unused numbers are not flowing to over subscribed countries. Please correct me if I am wrong.
While job market seem to have picked up and demanding, there seems to be a need for flow if talent and that is not happening due to the problems that need to be fixed.

The aim of this appeal is not to compare or compete with EB1, PhDs, US MS degree holders or discuss other exotic bills!
There are several hundred EB2 / EB3 folks who have continued to live here for several years (many have crossed 10 years). They are stuck in the infinitely long GC line, for no fault of theirs. It is natural that people who have stayed for long have grown up children (who are not US born) and who need to go to a good college for a good future.
It is almost impossible to pay international fees and it is neither fair no appropriate to break the back of genuine law abiding residents, despite the fact that they have lived for
8 / 10 years and have sincerely paid the taxes due to the government, just because they do not have a GC.
For the "sin" of being Indian/ Chinese born and for the "sin" of not being able to get the GC because the rules favour long term indentured labour, an entire upcoming yonger generation should not be allowed to suffer. This is unfair and discriminatory. If any one of us had been from a country other than India and China, we would have obtained out GCs in 3 / 4 years.
The idea is to have the cases of all genuine, hard working, EB2 / EB3 employees who have honestly lived here and are continuing to process the path ot GC legally, be considered from the human angle, more so from the point of view of the education of the children.
When it comes to illegals, people scream about human values, humanitarian considerations, education of their children, family ties etc etc. What about us, who have followed the rules "to the T" ????
Is following the rules, going through the approval complex web of approval processes, paying taxes and trying to lead sedate and simple lives a sin?
Are we not human beings? May be we are labelled "aliens" but we are certainly not from Mars!
So friends, let us be clear in where we stand and what we are pleading for.
Unless we have the conviction and clarity we cannot make any progess!
Long live the unity of EB 2 / EB3 employees!
May the SUPREME POWER bless IV and the genuine forum members!

good work Sherman_tribiani, i am watching this group of "highly skilled job stealer for sometime. they merely talk and do nothing. most of them r scared to do anything. they r scared of u & me. they r not scared when they steal our jobs and we will scare the hell out these ba$tard$ to make them do in their pants before we kick them out. gheen told me about this group and he also said that not to waste my time on these job stealers as they r weak and incapable of doing anything, other than stealing our jobs and outsourcing.
you are such a crying babe... rednecks like you should go compete in the farm picking potatoes. Geee.. where did you learn your manner?

I am a bit surprised that you had to do a crazy search for a third person. I did send you guys my story. I am non-IT EB1 and I did get an initial phone call from Sunil but then did not hear back.... Any way good to hear that you did find the necessary people.
Guys,
We were approached by a award-winning reporter to provide her two members of IV that fit two criteria
1) Should be non-IT
2) EB1 or EB2
Given the 20 stories we had only 2 such folks that fit the criteria and they who were gracious and spoke to the reporter. The reporter then wanted to speak to one more person and we did not have any readily available person. So we had to do a crazy search for a person that fits this criteria. We were able to find someone at the last moment and we did not squander our chance. But chances are pretty high that such a thing can happen in future!

Yes, we all shall see. 10,000, lol. I laugh at your post. A good laugh before going to bed is always good.
Friend - Why don't you wait till 9/18 and have this discussion. Oh, hold on, by that time, the rally will be a huge success and you won't be around here to show your face. Strength is in numbers and you will see the power of immigrants on 9/18. If we could reverse a visa bulletin with a rally of 350+ members and couple of hundred flowers, we will be headlines with 10000+ rally. This is going to be a historic event and why don't you take our side and be part of history instead of being an anti-immigrant cry baby.

Thanks a lot to the IV core. In my opinion, such impact by a minority grassroots organization is only possible in an country like the United States.
In the United States, if you can dream it you can make it happen. Thanks again to the IV team for their firm resolve through the process.
